This is Mollie and she has a sad start to her story… Mollie and her brother were abandoned when her family left their home in January. Someone did come and “adopted” her brother. Mollie was “adopted” for a little while too but the people that took her brought her back and dumped her back into the empty house. This is where Mollie’s story starts to look up… the sweet next door neighbor found Mollie and tried to take care of this baby as best she could. She wasn’t able to take Mollie into her home as she has dogs of her own. She did her best to feed and look after Mollie. Not long after this RMCR got a call to see if we could help find Mollie the forever home she so deserves.
We don’t know exactly how old Mollie is but we guess she is around 7-8 years young. She is spunky and loves to chase her ball and play with her foster brothers and sister. She loves to cuddle with her foster mom and her foster mom enjoys that quite a bit.. she feels like velvet! She gives sweet little kisses and just loves to be loved. She is potty trained and crate trained. She seems to adapt to new situations very well. She is a true little bundle of joy. She does fine with the cat in the house.. doesn’t even seem to notice he is there. We don’t know how she will do with kids but her foster mom thinks if she does end up in a home with kids they need to be over the age of 10. Mollie needs someone that will pamper and love her to bits!
Mollie is spayed and micro-chipped. RMCR will ensure she is current on all her vaccinations. If you would like to meet Mollie please fill out an online adoption application. Mollie’s adoption fee is $250.

Daisy is a nine year old black female Cocker Spaniel that is looking for a new home. She is an owner surrender. The family has two other dogs with which Daisy has never bonded. The family dynamics make it difficult to deal with the interactions of the three dogs and they feel Daisy would be better off in a different environment. Daisy is very sweet and loving dog and would do better with an owner that can give her the attention she deserves.
Daisy loves to be a lap dog, and gets along with her Foster’s dogs, two males about 7 years old. Daisy doesn’t seem to mind cats at all.
Daisy is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and is house trained. RMCR will ensure that she has a microchip if she does not already have one. If you are interested in Daisy, please make sure you have an online adoption application on file. Daisy’s adoption fee is $250.

This little cutie is Pippin. Pippin is 8 years old and is a sweetie. He does have some possession aggression and does not like to share his toys (even with his humans). Because of this we believe Pippin would do well as an only dog and without kids. He is potty trained and even though he isn’t thrilled about a crate he will go into one.
Pippin is current on his vaccinations is neutered and RMCR will make sure he is micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Pippin please fill out an online adoption application. Pippin’s adoption fee is $250.

Meet Winston! This handsome little man is approximately 9 years old and is so full of love and spirit! Winston is a male Cocker Spaniel that was rescued from a shelter in Memphis, TN where he was due to be euthanized that same day. He had heart worms, double ear infections, both eyes were very infected, and he had a severe skin infection as well. It has been several months since he was rescued and he is now heart worm free (received his treatment in December) and his eyes and ears are all clear! He does suffer from chronic dry eye but it is very easily managed with daily eye drops…and he sits very still for them! He is finishing up his medication for his skin infection and it is almost 100% gone! Winston had a pretty tough life, but he is such a trooper and will make a wonderful furry addition to your family. He gets along great with dogs and cats, he LOVES the dog park, does well on and off leash, and is also kennel trained. Please consider welcoming Mr. Winston into your home where he will get all the love and special attention he deserves!
Winston is current on vaccinations, RMCR will make sure Winston is neutered and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Winston please fill out an online adoption application. Winston’s adoption fee is $250.

Here we have Paco and Pepe. These cute boys are being surrendered because their current family is moving and can’t take them. Paco is the red cutie and is around 7 years old and his current family describes him as very fun loving, funny personality, full of energy and always on the go. He loves all kind of toys and is a “kid” at heart. Pepe is the black cutie and is about 9 years old and is described as being a very mellow and loving dog. These boys have grown up together and we would love to see them placed in a forever home together but we are willing to seperate them if you only have room for one in your home. They will need training as they still have accidents in the house. Their current family thinks that they will do fine with some training, as they have never gone though any before.
These boys are neutered, will be brought up current on vaccinations and will be micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Paco and Pepe, make sure you have filled out an online adoption application. Their adoption fee is $250 each.

Hello there. I know we’ve only just met, but I wonder if I might ask just one thing of you? Will you please read all the way to the end? I have so much to say and I want you to know it all before you move on to the next dog. My name is Shadow and I am a perfectly handsome, pure bred, Cocker Spaniel. I know my basic commands, I am house-trained and I have a heart of pure gold ready to love you unconditionally. I am a mellow guy who enjoys spending time cuddled up with you on the couch or lounging around the house. When it’s play time, I really enjoy catching, chasing and being all around adorable with tennis balls. I also enjoy my walks, jogs and bounding around in the fun Colorado snow.
I sound like a dream come true, don’t I? Well, my foster parents say that’s just what I am. I know you’re wondering how a perfect gentleman like me ends up in rescue. You see, I had a family that I loved very much. I grew up with them since I was a tiny puppy and they taught me to be an outstanding canine citizen. But my family changed over the years. My kids grew up and left our home and my mom worked a lot of hours and I was alone a lot. So, she decided I should be somewhere where I could have a predictable life full of cuddles. After twelve years, that was a heart-breaking transition for me to make.
And that’s why I wanted you to read to the end. I’m a twelve year old boy competing for the hearts of families who want young pups. But my age is only a number and doesn’t reflect who I am at all. I love to run and play and have fun with my family. I have no health problems (I’ve never even had an ear infection!) and am as well-behaved as they come. The only thing that might give away my age is the fact that I can’t hear very well anymore, but you would never know if I didn’t tell you.
So, are you still reading? Do you have a place in your heart and your home for a perfect gentleman like me? If you are interested in meeting Shadow, please make sure you’ve completed an online adoption application. Shadow’s adoption fee is $150.

Hi! My name is Onyx and I’m very excited to meet you! I am a three-year-old Docker. What’s a Docker you ask? It’s one of those “designer breeds” that mixes a dachshund and a cocker spaniel to make one cute pup! You would think a handsome young fellow like me wouldn’t end up in rescue, but I’ve experienced a lot you wouldn’t believe in my three short years on this planet. When I was just a puppy, I lived in a cage in a pet store. There was this couple who felt bad seeing me in that cage day after day, so they bought me even though they couldn’t keep me. They took me to a place they thought I would be safe, but it ended up being a hoarding situation. I lived there for about two and a half years before me and all of the other dogs in the house got very lucky and were taken to rescue here at Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue. Now I’m living in a foster home where I am getting lots of love, training and nutrition I need to be a healthy and outstanding canine companion.
Because of my circumstances over the past few years I have some obstacles to overcome. I was malnourished when I arrived, but I have gained weight since I’ve been here and I’m eating healthy food to improve my skin and coat. This is my favorite thing to work on because I LOVE FOOD! I am also working on my behavior. My foster mom says I’m like having a puppy. I have a lot of energy and I love to run and jump. If I could walk on my hind legs to be taller all the time, I would. I also love to search for treasures and then chew them up. I know not to chew furniture and shoes and things like that, but I don’t always know what toys are mine and what is not for me. I do know where my toy box is and I love to dig through it and find the perfect thing to play with. If it stays full, I do pretty well, but I go through my toys quickly. I am crate trained and house trained now, but I do have the occasional accident. My foster parents think I would do very well with a dogie door if you have one of those!
Despite my puppy ways, I have learned a lot about human companionship in the short time I have been in my foster home. My foster mom told me that I am the definition of joy. (That really got my wiggle butt going!) I have a beautiful spirit and I am full of love and light. I love my foster parents and want to make them happy. I am very affectionate and like to sit in your lap and get lots of hugs and kisses. They taught me how to play fetch and it is my new favorite thing. It also helps a lot with all of my energy! I have learned a few basic commands and will learn a lot more very quickly because I’m a smart guy. I will need a home that is confident they can help me continue my training in a positive and structured way. Most of all, I need a home with parents that remember where I came from, but can help me forget by giving me lots of time, patience and love. Because I am so much like a puppy, I will do best in a home without young children. I do great with other dogs! I can also live with cats if you know how to introduce us properly. If you’re interested in meeting me, my foster parents would love to talk to you and answer any of your questions.
Onyx is neutered, current on vaccinations and is micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Onyx, please fill out an online adoption application. His adoption fee is $250.
