Buddy is a five year old Cocker Spaniel mix that came to us from one of the Denver shelters. He was an owner surrender. The owner inherited Buddy from his father, but didn’t feel as if he could give him the attention that he deserves.
Buddy is a great guy. He’s mixed with some other breed in that he looks like a Cocker but is larger than the breed standard. He weights around 60 pounds but is a gentle giant. He loves attention and loves to play with his tennis ball. He’s not so good at bringing it back, but he can amuse himself by batting it around! He gets along with other dogs, but we don’t know about cats. He seems fine around children, but may just be too big for toddlers. He has had some ear problems, but we are working to get that under control. He also tends to have dry eyes, so he gets a couple of eye drops twice a day. He could probably stand to lose a couple of pounds, but regular exercise should help that.
Buddy is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and is microchipped, so all he needs if someone to love him for the rest of his life. If you’re that person, please complete an online adoption application.

Baxter is a darling five year old solid black mix breed. We think he may be a mix of Cocker Spaniel and Pekingese. He is loyal and loving and came housetrained and willing to play. His favorite toy is a 16 inch rubber ball with 2 braided cords of rope that he can swing around and chase — by himself!!! For a little dog of no more than 15 pounds, he is a brave companion who rarely barks.
Baxter is up-to-date on his vaccinations, is neutered and micro-chipped. He is fine around other dogs and should be fine with children of all ages. If you are interested in meeting Baxter, please fill out an online adoption application.

Ace with Sean, Deb and Allison
Sean, Deb and Allison were looking for their first family dog when they saw Ace at one of our adoption events. He’s a friendly boy who loves people, but there were other dogs they wanted to see as well so they held off for another week and visited him again at a another Petco adoption event. It was a hard choice to make since a couple of dogs caught their attention, but after talking it over at lunch, they came back and announced Ace was the one! Deb and Allison sat on the floor and Ace immediately jumped into their laps and snuggled. He had adopted them as well!

Sundance is Butch’s brother. He is about one year old and weighs around 20 lbs. He is lively, interested and likes to be where his human is. He loves people a bit more than toys and has a cheerful loving nature. He should be good around children and is a little possessive of his owner’s lap. He is house trained, crate trained and all around great dog who is a little shadow that wants to be where you are.
Sundance is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Sundance, please complete an online adoption application.

Butch is one of twins around one year old. He is housetrained and comfortable on leash. Like every little boy, he loves to play with toys and he loves to be petted. Soon he will figure out how to bring a toy and still set on a lap and he will be in heaven. He gets along well with other animals but likes his human best. He is quiet, loving companion that should be good with children and loves back yards.
Butch is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Ace has the heart and muscles of a Lab but the devotion of a Cocker. Mouth open and romping across the floor, then he comes often to lay his head on your knee, waiting, just waiting for you to stroke his head. He has discovered affection and is a little awkward. There can’t be too much. He has had a curious problem with house training. It seems he is afraid to step off of cement into the grass. Once you haul him in, he relaxes a bit, then with patience he takes care of business. Our guess is he was previously put in a yard with electric underground barriers and he exhibits great fear of stepping over the edge of lawn. Such a gentle happy dog, that would have been very frightening and confusing. He is is still reluctant and cautious but learning more and more that it is a good thing, not bad. A move to a new home will require the new owner to reinforce his confidence. He likes to bark at cats so probably not a good match. He would be very good with school age children to help him run off his energy and throw balls. He is heavy enough to knock a small child over with love, so best he not go to a home with toddlers. Got any 7 year old boys driving you crazy? Ace is your solution.
Ace is 2-3 years old, up to date on his vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Hurry! This the sweetest, funniest, cuddliest dog!!!! If you want the good humor and love of a puppy that is housebroken and friendly with other pets and people, Bailey is your dog. He is Peter Pan at his best. He plays with balls and stuffed toys with happy energy and sleeps as if he turned off a switch. His heart is in anything he does. With long agile legs, he often walks across the floor on his back feet, head held high with the grace of Fred Astaire. His tail is long and very fancy. Like a boa, It swings and curls up and wags furiously. He is definitely one of a kind and you’ll wish that wasn’t so because so many people will want one just like him as you introduce him to your friends. He is Just barely house broken so you will have to follow through and if you want, He happily sleeps in a crate, except you will want to be near him constantly! Hard not to spoil this one! We recommend a home without toddlers as Bailey tends to jump up for affection and may knock them down. He’s great with kids eight and older.
Bailey is up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Bailey, please complete an online adoption application.

My name is “Joey” and all of my friends are here at Rockin’ Paw too! Goldie and Socks and Lady and Thumper! We were lucky to find a safe place to live temporarily when our owner had to sign us in at the shelter after he lost his job and our home. We tried to stay together by living in his car for awhile — it was very scary for us all. My foster parents tell me that I am “too sweet for words”!! I am playful, friendly, and housetrained. I’ve been neutered, heartworm negative tested, and all of my vaccines are current now. I am only 1 ½ years old. I know that we may not all be able to stay together as we try to look our best to be re-homed, but I promise you this – I will be the best dog ever! I would love to go walking with you every day and to snuggle on the couch with you at night. Call the rescue to visit about me today! *********************************************************************

Malcolm is the good ol’ boy with the heart of gold. He kinda ambles when he walks, so nonchalant. He will set and think a spell before coming over to shyly put his head near your knee so if you are inclined to pet him, he’ll be nearby. Foster Mom got him in her lap once and she thought he was going to faint with joy. But, he doesn’t take anything for granted, so he won’t push his luck. You have to let him know “it’s OK”.
He uses the pet door and is good on the leash. His main goal in life is to please someone with hands to pet and arms to hug. He should be fine with children and maybe with cats, but his goal and dream is to have a human of his own.
Malcolm is a year and a half old. We feel that he is a mix, but are unsure of his pedigree. He was surrendered by his owner due to financial hardship. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Malcolm, please complete an online adoption application.

We’re pleased to introduce you to Penny! Penny is five years old and is being surrendered by her owner due to divorce and relocation.
Penny is house trained and kennel trained, although her owner lets her have free reign of the house when she’s not at home. The best home for Penny would be with an active single person or couple. She loves going on walks. She would do best with someone who is very patient, loving and kind and would let her sleep with them or sit with them on the couch. She loves to be held and cuddled. She is sweet and loving and likes to be around you all the time, so it would need to be a home where she can be with them in the kitchen, etc.
Penny does get along with other dogs, but would prefer to be the only dog in your life. She is jealous of babies and toddlers, so any children should be older. She’s never been around cats, so we recommend a cat-free home. She’s not a barker – she only barks when someone rings the doorbell to let you know you have visitors. She’s also a great runner. She can run alongside a bike on a leash. She loves to play outside, chase birds and squirrels in the yard. She loves to chew on toys and chew sticks. She’s spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.
If you are interested in meeting Penny, please complete an online adoption application.
