Kesha is a four year old black and white female Cocker Spaniel that is being surrendered by her owner. Kesha has decided that she wants to be the boss and does not get along with the other dogs in the home – a toy Poodle and a Cockapoo. Aside from her aggression towards these other dogs, she’s very sweet and loveable and enjoys cuddling with her owner. Currently, Kesha is in a foster home with another Cocker Spaniel and they get along just fine. Perhaps it’s just the smaller dogs that she wants to rule!
Kesha is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccines with the next round due in 2011 and the rabies towards the end of 2010. She is house and crate trained. She does cry for attention, but is satisfied when she’s acknowledged. She’s had ear infections in the past, so care will need to be given to keep these under control. She’s very gentle around children two and up, however we don’t know about cats.
If you are interested in meeting Kesha, please complete an online adoption application.

We think Squash was so named because of his coloring. He a three year old golden/red sweetheart who is a taller Cocker boy. He is a total lover and adores having his tummy rubbed! He know sit, come, off, down, and cookie, and we’re working on wait. He let us bathe him in the sink, use clippers on him, and trim his feet, so he should be fine at the groomer. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and microchipped. Squash likes chasing balls, but hasn’t figured out how to bring them back yet! He gets along well with his foster mom’s cats and the other dogs, and he spends all his time at her feet or on her lap. Squash is crate trained and house trained and waiting here patiently for his forever home.
If you are interested in meeting Squash please fill out an online adoption application.

Lady is a lively, agile, and affectionate Velcro Cocker. Lady is a four year old darling who was owned by a backyard breeder in Missouri. She’s been neutered, so those days are behind her! She stays close to her foster mama and loves being petted all over. She is a dainty, pretty little thing who is very thin right now–nothing that lots of food can’t fix, and she’s getting plenty! Lady’s right eye was damaged before she came into foster care, so we’re having it removed soon. It will be neatly closed, so it will look like she’s winking at you all the time. Unlike the way people respond to such things, she doesn’t know she has a problem! She gets around perfectly well up and down stairs, around the yard, and every place all the other dogs go–and at the same speed. Lady is perfectly house-trained, only chews on her own toys, and loves romping with the other dogs. She has shown no separation anxiety at all. Lady has had free run of her foster home, and she even gets along with the cats. She knows sit and come, and we’re working on some other commands. Meet her once and she will steal your heart!
Lady is up-to-date on her vaccinations and micro-chipped. She should be fine with children of all ages. If you are interested in meeting Lady, please fill out an online adoption application.

Sassy is a four year old black and brown female Cocker Spaniel that was a puppy mill mother that her current owners adopted from the Humane Society last February. She displays some typical traits of puppy mill mothers that will take patience and training to overcome. Along with the fact that there’s a new baby on the way, the owners feel that this new obligation will take time away from working with Sassy’s training and is looking for someone willing to give her the attention she deserves.
Sassy is crate trained and enjoys nesting in her crate. Due to her history, she has some house training issues that are resolved by using the crate. She is doing well on the lead, especially with the help of a gentle leader. She absolutely LOVES to play ball and is awesome at bringing it back and never seems to tire of the game. She gets along with other dogs, but we don’t know about cats. She should be fine with older children, but we would caution aginst toddlers just in case.
Sassy is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She’s super sweet and healthy, so if you are interested in meeting her or would like additional information, please complete an online adoption application.

Pistol is a five year old male Cocker Spaniel that is being surrendered by his owner. They recently took him in when his original owner experienced some hardships, but it seems that he is not getting along with the resident Jack Russell even though he grew up with other dogs and got along with them very well. He is very sweet with a great personality and would do well with another dog companion.
Pistol loves playing ball and going outside. He also enjoys walks. He will lay next to his owners on the floor. Although he is house trained, he does have some issues with marking, but he is not yet neutered. Once neutered, that should resolve some of those issues and training in that area will also help. He’s still young enough to change those behaviors.
Pistol will be micro-chipped, neutered, and up to date on all of his vaccinations prior to being adopted. If you are interested in meeting him, please complete an online adoption application.

Ace with Sean, Deb and Allison
Sean, Deb and Allison were looking for their first family dog when they saw Ace at one of our adoption events. He’s a friendly boy who loves people, but there were other dogs they wanted to see as well so they held off for another week and visited him again at a another Petco adoption event. It was a hard choice to make since a couple of dogs caught their attention, but after talking it over at lunch, they came back and announced Ace was the one! Deb and Allison sat on the floor and Ace immediately jumped into their laps and snuggled. He had adopted them as well!
