Prince was rescued with two other kennel-mates where they lived 24x7 outside in a kennel with only an igloo for shelter. He was never socialized, never in a house; he was quite frightened when he arrived to his first RMCR foster home, mid-March 2015. The first two or three weeks he was afraid of everything and would hide under tables. What a change just a few months has made.
When prompted, he will now sleep in a human's bed and is behaving like a real dog, although is still nervous meeting new people. He picked up on house-training pretty quickly and likes to explore. He has no aggression with humans or other dogs and is food motivated, often sharing his food with others. He loves his new-found freedom of running, so much so he needs a fenced in yard or to be leashed in wide-open spaces. He is scared of unexpected noises. He arrived heart worm positive but completed his treatment in July. X-rays taken in Sept show an enlarged heart - more vet visits are needed. He is such a joy and a handsome boy.
If not already, Prince will be micro-chipped, neutered (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on his shots prior to adoption. If you would like to meet Prince to see if he is a good fit for your home, please fill out an Adoption Application online.
