Joey is a 6-month old brown and white parti-color Cocker Spaniel. He is a highly active pup who has had just very basic training and needs some work. But he listens well and I think will be easy to train to be a great companion and family dog. Joey is a quiet dog and doesn’t do a lot of barking unless there is something to bark at or if his foster buddies start barking of course he will join in. Joey loves to play with, or tease, one of his young foster buddies but doesn’t really bother the older dogs in the household. He does like to play the monkey see monkey do game so getting him housetrained was a snap. He does need leash work and tries to chew on the leash when it is on and he is not walking. When walking he seems to forget that the leash is a chew toy. Joey likes to carry toys around in his mouth and has not destroyed any household items. He is healthy, happy, affectionate and even tempered and is a gentle lap dog if he allowed to be. He can be goofy and is generally obedient.
Joey is crate trained and rides well in the car. He is neutered, micro chipped, and up to date on his shots. He has been good with adults and some children but he does need children who are old enough to understand that his ears are not to be pulled and he is not to be used as a chair. Let’s prevent bites before they happen. He would do well in a home with a fenced yard, a family who is home a lot and has time to train a puppy and take him on family outings. Joey seems to really enjoy canine companionship and would do well with a dog that is a little older so that the older dog will set play limits for Joey.
If not already, Joey will be micro-chipped, neutered (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on his shots prior to adoption. If you would like to meet Joey to see if he is a good fit for your home, please fill out an Adoption Application online.
