Chester

Chester has received multiple adoption applicatons.  You may apply with the understanding that he may no longer be available!

We would like to introduce you to Chester. He is a 10-month old boy with a luxuriously soft coat and his full Cocker tail! Chester asked us, his foster parents, if we could introduce you to him. He would do it himself, but he is still a bit wary of the world outside of his comfort zone. You see, one day he was going about his puppy business when his people told him to hop in the car. Next thing he knew, he was left at a very scary animal shelter. He didn’t know what happened or what he did wrong. He waited and waited and he didn’t understand why his family wasn’t coming back to get him. Then, someone leashed him up and put him in another car. He wondered if he might be going home, but instead, he rode in that car for a long time and ended up in Denver, Colorado. That’s a long way from his Kansas home!

Chester ended up at our house and needed a great deal of love and reassurance that he was a good boy and was loved VERY much. That’s an easy thing to do when he’s as cute and cuddly as a teddy bear! He’s also an unbelievably well behaved boy – sometimes we forget that he’s only a puppy. He minds his manners as best he can, listens when he’s told “no,” understands some basic commands and does remarkably well on a leash. He loves to play fetch and chew on his toys, but you don’t need to worry about Chester chewing up your things. He knows exactly what things belong to him and what things belong to you. Chester is kind to all creatures big and small. He knows not to chase cats, even when they run. He knows not to nip at little fingers that reach through the gate to pet his perfectly cute face. He also loves to cuddle up with fellow canines for an afternoon nap!

Although Chester is a well-behaved boy, we have to remember that he is still a puppy. For that reason, like all puppies, it is best if he doesn’t go to a home with very young children. Also, because of Chester’s timid nature, we don’t think he would do well in a home with a strong, dominating, alpha personality. He would do just fine with another sweet dog (or cat!) that just wants to be his friend, though. We actually think he would do best in a home with another dog to keep him company if his humans are away – he sure does love to snuggle! Chester is house-trained; however, he is also a puppy and we do have occasional accidents. He needs a family that can help him learn through kindness and understanding as he can become very fearful and stressed if he feels he’s done anything wrong.

Chester is a remarkable little guy and we don’t think he’ll stick around long. With a face this cute and a perfect personality to go with it, he’ll be snatched up quick. Chester is very excited to meet you, so put your application in today!

Chester is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and will be microchipped for you.  Our online adoption application is here.
